People of all walks of life must\u00a0travel\u00a0these\u00a0paths\u00a0and\u00a0roads\u00a0to home, school, and work, to retrieve water or farm and forage for food. These weapons instill fear in whole communities, deepening poverty and acting as a lethal barrier to development.<\/b><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1533\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1533\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wvcbl.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/nicole.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1533\" alt=\"the road traveled\" src=\"https:\/\/wvcbl.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/nicole-300x212.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"212\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wvcbl.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/nicole-300x212.jpg 300w, https:\/\/wvcbl.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/nicole-1024x723.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/wvcbl.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/nicole.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1533\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Road Traveled<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><b>Our exhibit features painted landscapes from around the world as well as some of the stories of survivors whose life\u00a0paths\u00a0were forever altered by their encounters with these remnants of wars and conflicts, in many cases, decades old. \u201cThe\u00a0Road\u00a0Traveled\u201d hopes to educate all about the life threatening decisions people make around the world each day and the importance of banning these weapons and removing them so that all may\u00a0travel\u00a0without fear.<\/b><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Monongalia Arts Center (MAC) in Morgantown, West Virginia, USA is hosting the annual PSALM (Proud Students Against Landmines and Cluster Bombs) exhibition, \u201cThe Road Traveled,\u201d which features paintings of landscapes from across the world. There will be an opening reception on Friday, February 8 from 5:30-7:30 PM.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>The landscapes featured in \u201cThe Road Traveled\u201d will be accompanied by the stories of survivors whose life paths were forever altered by their encounters with remnants of wars and conflicts.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>For the past 20 years, St. Francis de Sales School\u2019s PSALM (Proud Students Against Landmines and Cluster Bombs) chapter has generated public awareness and worked towards the elimination of landmines and cluster bombs.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThe Road Traveled\u201d will be on display in the Benedum Galley of MAC from Friday, February 8 until Saturday, February 23, 2019.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>MAC is located at 107 High Street, Morgantown, WV<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You have probably heard expression\u00a0\u201cthe\u00a0road\u00a0less\u00a0traveled\u201d.\u00a0It implies a choice in life but in many places around the world\u00a0the real\u00a0paths\u00a0and\u00a0roads\u00a0of life are strewn with the remnants of war and there are no choices of which\u00a0paths\u00a0and\u00a0roads\u00a0to take.
